IQR003, Irma Jetty's "Glasses for Lasses and Lads," like "Love Monsters" before it, was included in a CDR mix of songs that I packaged, including liner notes, and gave to friends maybe early in the 2010s.

The sonic ethos is similar to "Love Monsters." Create a racket so committed to abusing the craft of songwriting and recording that you wonder if there just might be something offbeat and quirky enough under there to reward a second listen.

There are some weird yelpy S&E-era Pavement bits, flopping fish and other alliterative nautical images, medieval weapons, and some opaque references to hymns I sung as a child (and adult, for that matter). I put a mic inside of a metal watering can (that also contained a jingly cat toy) and sat it on my snare drum. There is even what one might call a guitar solo. (Don't get your hopes up.)

The original liner notes I wrote promoted a sort of meditative practice that populated the physical world with visual and experiential reminders of spiritual truths. If one were to have the right "glasses," one could charge daily life with reminders of the reality of God as he was revealed in Jesus that could jolt us into the most certain truth in Creation.
